Golden Phoenix Restaurant (金鳳大餐廳) is always teeming with people during both lunch and dinner times, evident by the ever-present queues outside, which speaks volumes about its enduring popularity.

History

Established in 1969, Golden Phoenix Restaurant boasts a history spanning over fifty years. Its founder, Mr. Lin, affectionately known as the "Uncle Steak King (阿叔牛扒大王)," brings more than five decades of culinary experience, including time spent working in five-star hotels. In the 1960s and 70s, Western cuisine was considered a luxury in Hong Kong, out of reach for many despite their hard work. Mr. Lin, however, introduced affordable Hong Kong-style Western cuisine, aiming to make it accessible to all. His tender and flavorful steaks have since become a nostalgic memory for generations of Hong Kongers. Today, the Golden Phoenix Restaurant has expanded to seven branches across Hong Kong and even in Zhongshan, Guangdong.

Signature Dish: Beef Fillet

At any steakhouse, the classic Beef Fillet is a must-try, often defining the reputation of the establishment. Golden Phoenix's Beef Fillet (牛柳餐) stands out with its unique smooth, chewy texture and flavorful character, complemented by a special house sauce. It's a generous portion, consisting of two large pieces of steak.

There's more to Golden Phoenix than just meat and seafood. There's a hidden dining trick worth trying - for an additional $2, you get a generous serving of minced garlic. These seemingly small bits of garlic, when mixed with the caramelized meat and flavorful sauce, enhance the overall flavor profile, leaving a lasting taste.
