Conveniently located near the pier, the hostel is surrounded by stunning hills and tranquil waters. As your boat inches closer to the hostel, its outlines emerge through the mist, revealing a charming garden adorned with beautiful acacia trees. The hostel's plants are meticulously nurtured and arranged, bringing a simplistic yet cozy ambiance that you may find endearing.

Despite its rustic charm, the hostel is fully equipped with amenities such as Wi-Fi, air conditioning, bathrooms, and a kitchen to ensure your comfort. It caters to solo travelers as well as groups, offering rooms with four beds for around 800 HKD per night. Due to its immense popularity, even amongst locals, it is advisable to reserve your room at least a month in advance.

The grassy area in front of the hostel serves as a hub for guests to play some games or simply bask in the sun while soaking in the fresh air. You can enjoy an authentic Hong Kong-style barbecue under the twinkling stars, sharing tales with fellow travelers. The YHA Chek Keng Youth Hostel caters to outdoor enthusiasts throughout the year. In the spring, you can try your hand at fishing off the pier, while the hot summer invites you to partake in water sports at a nearby sports center. The autumn and winter seasons present perfect hiking opportunities on the Maclehose Trail, where you can admire the stunning mangroves. For the adventurous spirits, the climb to Nam She Tsim (蚺蛇尖), the highest point in Sai Kung, promises an exhilarating experience. A visit to Tai Long Wan (大浪灣), a picturesque beach, or a short 30-minute walk to the paradisiacal Ham Tin Wan (鹹田灣) could also be on your itinerary.
