SAI WAN VILLAGE AND BEACH
A GUIDE TO VISIT HONG KONG'S HIDDEN PARADISE

There's always a stereotype that Hong Kong consists of a cityscape, nothing but concrete devoid of nature. In fact, there's a place ineffably beautiful, described as the Maldives where crystal-clear water and the white sand beach can lull your soul. Let's explore the stunning Sai Wan Beach!

There are plentiful beaches scattered in the area of Sai Kung Peninsula but Sai Wan Beach stands out as one of Hong Kong's top ten most beautiful sights. Despite the traffic inconvenience (also all the beaches in Sai Kung), this protected area boasts pristine, unspoiled surroundings.

In the Sai Wan Village, there are many facilities for visitors. There are a couple of restaurants (Hoi Shan Restaurant, Oriental Restaurant and Bar, and Waves Cafe), and a surf and tent rental shop.

Upon arriving at the beach, you'll see a small headland dividing it into two sections. The second half, furthest from the village, is noticeably cleaner and more picturesque. This area is also perfect for setting up a tent if you plan to camp overnight.

Sai Wan Beach boasts the clearest water you'll find in Hong Kong. The waves remain gentle, making the beach an ideal spot for relaxation. Take your time sitting in the crystal-clear water, appreciating the stunning natural beauty surrounding you.

Bring at least 2.5L water as there are no stores from the first 30-minute walk. Need to have good time management, as you'll spend a couple of hours leaving if not taking a boat.
