Perched on the 118th floor ICC tower, the Ozone bar at the Ritz Carlton holds the title of the world's highest bar. Located right by the water on West Kowloon, this high-end bar serves drinks at an altitude of 480 meters with stunning panoramic vistas to Hong Kong Island and beyond.
The interior of the Ozone rooftop is futuristic in style, while the semi-open terrace has a more bright and lounge-feel setting. Early in the evening, lounge music provides the soundtrack for a more relaxed vibe, with DJs coming to the fore later to play to an eclectic crowd of tourists, hotel guests and after-work drinkers.
The menu comprises a wide range of spirits and a reasonable wine list, with Brazilian and Asian tapas to snack on. Inventive cocktails are in full force, such as the “Basilic” with gin, fresh basil, green apple, lemongrass, yuzu and basil foam – a refreshing concoction with a great kick of basil but an overpowering sweetness.
There are plenty more options to choose from, though prices are almost high as the bar's setting – expect to pay at least HK$400 for two cocktails. Though quite pricey, the extraordinary experience is worth it.
